1. Sims Palmer (1992)

Shaun (Mini Shred) Palmer has been around. Back when pro snowboarders had character and spent more time in the bar than the gym, the Palm was the man. He didn’t give two f#cks what you thought, he just did his thing.

I remember him looking into a camera right before dropping into the US Open Pipe sometime in the early nineties and saying “I had a lot of Jack Daniels last night, about 8 or 9 beers today, and i’m gonna win it!” And if I remember right, he did.

Along with his love of Cadillac’s he has liked clowns since he was a kid. The top sheet on his promodel for Sims has a full-length clown dressed in stars and stripes with cigar in hand. Like the tattoo’s to match his car collection he had the haircut to match the clown theme when this model dropped. The full ‘krusty’, he shaved a huge balled patch on top and dyed the rest of his hair bright red.

His career has been long and broad, on top of the podium in Halfpipe, Snowboardcross, Skicross, Downhill Mountain Biking and Motorcross. Even in 2010 he’s still charging, narrowly missing out on Olympic selection for Snowboardcross. Before he started Palmer Snowboards in 1995 he had some of the most memorable graphics on Sims, none more so than these with the stars and stripes on the base.
